I did not want to take an ambulance, as that costs money (I also have no insurance), but the cut was serious enough I needed medical attention; luckily my mom knew that the local urgent care was faster than the emergency room, so off we go! The whole ride my brother is rubbing my shoulder and trying to keep me calm, as I'm practically hyperventilating at this point from the adrenaline xD
We get to the urgent care clinic and have to yell at the top of our lungs for the receptionist to notice we're there (luckily no one else was in the waiting room) and then spend a frantic 3 minutes explaining the situation and getting all the paperwork to fill out (damn American medical system). I also had to juggle my cellphone and keep pressure on my wrist at the same time as both my mom and dad were calling with instructions, helpful advice, and "I love you"s.
Finally I was able to go back into an examining room and answer the usual questions about allergies and medical history every stupid clinic requires in this town even though my records are online in front of them. The nurse's assistant has me stretch my arm out on a table so she can wash it, while my brother is sitting in the corner filling out all the papers they need. Looking back now it was actually really funny. The nurse and I also have an argument about whether or not I need a tetanus shot at this point
The doctor comes in and yells at the nurse for putting my arm at an awkward angle then readjusts it at my side to be more comfortable
I get sewed up like a rag doll (4 stitches!), given the rundown on how to not get it infected and doctor man leaves. The nurses come back in to wrap it up, and I inform them I will get the tetanus shot after all (can't be too careful and the numbing medicine would help lmao). The nurse assistant wraps up my wrist and asks if it feels too tight. I answer "How can I tell when I can't feel my hand anyway? I'll keep an eye out if it starts to turn funky colors though." She blushes, mumbles something and goes on with cleaning up the room. The nurse comes in a few minutes later, gives me my shot (I was right that I wouldn't feel it much, go anesthetic!) and exclaimed my hand was wrapped too tight. Surely enough, my fingers were looking a little purple. So I have to suffer getting my wrist wrapped again before we can leave and argue with the receptionist about billing. Luckily since the rest of my family is in the system (and they have insurance) the clinic agreed to setting up payments.
So that was my Oops adventure for today. See you in ten days when I get the stitches out
Update from Saturday: I had to go teach a class at the local Red Cross on babysitting. None of the parents believed I was actually hurt, they saw my wrapped up arm and assumed it was part of the First Aid lesson. I sold quite a bit of merch though, maybe they felt guilty xD

They brought sexy back, but I scared it away.
